The Consular Section receives passport applications ONLY on Mondays from 10hrs to 13hrs. Applicants are to note that making false statements for the purpose of acquiring a passport is an offence punishable by law. Please note that applicants for Ghana passports must be Citizens of Ghana. They will be required to provide documentary evidence as proof of citizenship and will be interviewed. Applicants with Dutch nationality must provide evidence from the IND that they are allowed to hold both nationalities. In addition, they are advised to acquire the dual nationality status in Ghana.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must complete and print an Online Ghana Passport Application Form at https://online.ghanaembassy.nl
  • Applicants must upload and also submit two (2) passport size photographs (full face with white background) taken not more than three (3) months from the date of application.

New applications

  • Applicants must also provide both the legalised original and photocopy of their Birth Certificate (authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Accra) and an affidavit from the High Court in Ghana.
  • Application for a new passport to replace missing passport/lost passport must be accompanied by a police report in English (if the report is in Dutch, it should be translated into English) in addition to the above requirements for a new application.
  • Application for a new passport to replace a damaged passport shall be supported by copies of the passport (the damaged passport must be included) in addition to the requirements for new applications.
  • Applicants, who through marriage have adopted the names of their spouses, must provide a copy of the marriage certificate and Ghana government gazette in order of it to be reflected in their new passport.
  • Processing fee of €215.
New Applications for Minors
  • Application for a new passport for a child must be supported by the birth certificate (in English) of the child.
  • One of the parent’s Ghana passport.
  • A consent form and/or letter (available at the Consular Section) signed by both parents.
  • The processing fee of €115.
  • Evidence of residence in the Netherlands is required

2.  Renewal (expired and exhausted pages)

  • Applicants are required to attach their old passport and pay a processing fee of €115.00.
  • A period of eight weeks is required to process an application due to some challenges with the issuance of passports.

ALL APPLICANTS, INCLUDING CHILDREN MUST SUBMIT APPLICATIONS IN PERSON AT THE CONSULAR SECTION. APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BETWEEN 10HRS to 13HRS MONDAYS ONLY.

All payments in respect of consular services must be made by debit card “PIN” at the Embassy.
