The Foundation is one of the many Ghanaian founded NGO’s based in the Netherlands

The aims and objectives of these foundation, is to:

1. Promote unity among all Anglo/Ewe communities in the Netherlands

2. Organise and promote social, cultural and educational activities within these communities and people from other sister communities.

3. Seek financial and material assistance in the Netherlands with the view to improving the educational, hygiene, and the general socio-economic  development of the Anlo/Ewe communities in Ghana.

4. Encourage all sons and daughters from these communities(both home and abroad) , to play an active role in further developing their communities

5. Work with other Ghanaian Organisations, in promoting and protecting the good name of our motherland.

Council of Ghanaian Organisations in the Netherlands (COGHAN) PDF Print E-mail

The Council of Ghanaian organisations in The Netherlands (CoGhaN) is registered at the Amsterdam chamber of commerce as a foundation with registration number 34357334 and recognised by the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana, The Hague, as a unifying organ or platform for all people of Ghanaian descent in The Netherlands.

The membership of the CoGhaN is open to all registered Ghanaian bodies (be it welfare, social or religious inclined) in The Netherlands.

Against the background of the overriding need to forge a common front for Ghanaians in the Netherlands, and with facilitation by the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana, The Hague, the objectives of CoGhaN are oriented, among others, towards the following;

a) Fostering unity, harmony, understanding, and cooperation among the various member bodies.

b) Serving as the sole recognised body and unified voice of the entire member bodies.

c) Providing an effective, dynamic, and responsible forum for addressing issues of common concern to the member bodies and persons of Ghanaian descent in The Netherlands.

d) Fostering, promoting, projecting the good name, reputation, and interests, at all times, of member bodies and persons of Ghanaian descent in the Netherlands and Ghana.

e) Serving as a broad-based think-tank; taking a conscious and strategic approach to engage Dutch National Institutions in the formulation of effective policies that are beneficial to the Ghanaian community and to influence Dutch public opinion on issues regarding ethnic minorities with particular reference to people of Ghanaian descent.

f) Promoting the integration into the Dutch society of persons of Ghanaian descent by identifying areas of needed motivation and support towards their efforts to integrate.

Stichting was set up by Ghanaians & Dutch social workers in 1998. The District Council of Amsterdam Southeast, & City Council of Amsterdam are the main sponsors for Vice Versa. Other sources are through the implementation of projects and incidental activities. Funds, which are solicited from charity organizations and sponsors, have enabled Vice Versa to make significant progress in the fields of education and parental support for Ghanaians.

Tasks:
Assist the Ghanaian community with programs and support networks;
Play intermediair rol between the Ghanaian community and the (government) social welfare organisations;
Support, develop and evaluate strategies that encourage community participation in activities
Monitor, evaluate and recommend changes to community development programs, on health, education and child upbringing;
Help raise community and public awareness regarding issues such as welfare rights by
promoting, organising and/or helping to coordinate meetings and seminars

Objectives:
1. Promotion of interaction between Ghanaians and the Dutch Community

2. To assist the under privileged especially women in Ghana to access capital to establish small businesses with the view to becoming self-sufficient and economically independent.

3. To collaborate with Dutch Development Cooperation organisations to provide finance for projects and programs designed to introduce, expand and improve the development of small and medium enterprises in Ghana with the aim of alleviating poverty.
